Vacation - day 2

On Tuesday we spent most of the day on the road. We drove from Las Vegas to the east side of Yosemite and then all the way through the park to get to our hotel on the west side. We did stop once we were in the park for a small hike. It was beautiful there - large cliffs, trees, lakes, waterfalls, and rocks for the boys to throw to their hearts content! The road was a little scary - there was no guardrail and a sharp drop-off on one side but there was so much to look at that I was distracted. Our last day there they closed that road closed because it started snowing in the high elevations - I'm glad we drove it in good weather! Day 3 to come later!!

Vacation, day 1

No, we aren't home yet but we do have wireless at our hotel so while we wait for the kids to fall asleep I needed something to do!
We spent monday in Las Vegas with Erik. We had a great time with him. Good food, fun attractions (lions; shark reef with sea turtles, fish and crocodiles; swimming and a water/light show) made for a full day. I didn't get many pictures since Erik felt that having my camera made me the ULTIMATE tourist, but he was gracious enough to let me snap a few - and he even took one for me! By the way, the Bellagio was nice but we prefer the atmosphere in Tuscany better!

Vacation

I know nobody holds their breath for my latest posts since they are few and far between (and not really all that exciting!), but I just wanted to post that I won't be posting for awhile since we are going on vacation! We leave monday for Las Vegas to see Erik (Brian's brother) and then head up to Yosemite National Park for the rest of the week. We have never been to Yosemite and it is a place that we have wanted to visit while we live in California. Since we have lived here for over 5 years and we don't know where we will be moving in December, we figured that it was time to make the trip. We will take lots of pictures for the blog along the way so we can share them with you when we get back. I hope everyone has a good week!

Daddy's Hat

I am sure it gives good protection from the sun, but it doesn't do much for fashion... Jake wouldn't even put it on! At least Noah looks cute. Well, Brian looks kind of cute too. This definitely confirms that the Marine Corp is not for me!!!

Big Bear Lake and Snow Summit

One of our favorite things to do around here is to ride the chairlift at snow summit mountain and hike down (in the summer, of course!). Last time we did this it was too late in the season and they were already making snow (sorry again, Jeremy and Joanne!) so we froze our way down! Last weekend we did it again, but this time it was perfect weather - even a little chilly which felt great! We went with our good friends, the Chungs, and ended up spending 2 hours hiking down. Normally that would be a recipe for disaster, but the kids loved every minute of it. If you ever come visit us we will take you there - the view alone is worth it!

Dinosaurs

Last week some friends invited us to go see our new "local" dinosaur park. "Local" is kind of misleading since it was in the middle of nowhere and the only other attractions around were a casino and outlet mall! That is just how things are out here! Regardless of it's location, it was alot of fun.

They were able to "pan for gold", however Noah just thought is was better to splash himself with water - well, it was really hot that day!
